The line graph illustrates the number of international visitors in three different countries (France, Spain and Japan) over a 30-year period, from 1990 to 2020. Overall, there was a dramatic shift in preference among tourists from Japan to Spain, while France remained as the most popular tourist destination across the period.
In more detail, the number of international tourists in France was recorded at approximately 45 million, which was the highest compared to the other countries. This figure increased gradually over the years and reached the peak by 2020 at more than 80 million tourists. Likewise, Spain followed the same upward trend. Initially, Spain recorded the smallest number of international tourists at 30 million. However, the number grew more than double to around 75 million tourists by 2020.
Japan, on the other hand, reported to have 40 million international tourists, which was relatively higher than Spain in 1990. The number rose marginally by around 2 million in 2000, before declining in the following years. At the end of the period, Japan recorded the smallest number of international visitors at around 35 million.
