Whole milk in 1970 were the most consumed type of milk with around 25 million gallons per capita. Furthermore, whole milk consumption was steadily decreasing every 10 years for 10 gallons. In 2000 with around 10 gallons per capita this number decreased to 6 gallons in 2010, by the start of 2010 it slightly dropped to 5 gallons.
In contrast, low fat milk alternative was unpopular in 1970 with 6 gallons per capita this number sharply increased in 1990 into 14 gallons. Low fat milk then was holding the same number of gallons through 20 years starting at 14 in 1990 and turned into 14 on 2010. Low fat milk than moderately decreased to approximately 13 gallons in 2015.
