The line graph illustrates the percentage of 18-25 year youth people in universities in four asian countries from 1961 to 2011.
It is clear that, Singapore and Thailand showed the most significant growth, while Malaysia and Philippines experienced more gradual increase.
In 1961, approximately 24% of young people in Thailand attended university, which was slightly higher than Singapore at about 15%. However Singapore figure increase dramatically around 30% before fluctuating two decades. After that In 2011 around 40% of young people attended university in Singapore. In contrast, Thailand followed same pattern, remain stable until 1991 and after that the percentage of youth people attending university increase dramatically about 43% in 2011, which was the highest proportion in this figure.
However, In 1961 around 7% of Philippines youth people attended in university whereas Malaysian for around 3% over the same period. Over the following years, the percentage of youth people in Philippines attend in university around 15% in 1991. After that this proportion increase slightly about 19% in 2011. In contrast the proportion of Malaysian youth people attend in university increase dramatically approximately 15% in 1991 and remain stable until 2011.
