Overall, the attendance of cinema witnessed a decline in the watchers aged 14 to 24 , and 25 to 34 , while the opposite was true for the remaining age groups. In addition, the percentage of 14-24-year-old people who visited to the movie theater was the highest over the period.
Regarding two younger age groups, the figure for 14-24 year-old audiences started the period at over 90%, higher than that for the 25-34 year-old group about 10%. The proportion of the youngest audiences underwent a slight decrease to approximately 88% at the end of the time frame. Similarly, the percentage of the cinema visitors who aged 25 to 34 decreased significantly to 60% in 1988, before a gradual increase to roughly 75% in 2008.
Turning to the other age groups, the rate of 34-49 aged cinema audiences dropped from 60% in 1978 to 50% in 1988, followed by an increase to 70% in 1998,and went down slightly by 2% by the final year. The figure for the movie theater visitors aged 50 and over decreased by 10 percent points to 30% over the initial two decades, despite this drop, the proportion increased to 50% over the next 20 years, and by the end of the period, hovered at around that mark.
