Overall, the age 14-24 group and age 25-34 witnessed similar patterns while the age 35-49 and age 50+ groups were upward trends in this period.
The figure for individuals aged 14-24 started at over 90 percent and saw a slight fluctuation until 1988, after that it ended up with a decline at the end of this period. Starting at 80 percent, the age 25-34 experienced a noticeably collapse at 60 percent after 20 years, later on it rebounded to 80 percent in 1998, before falling to the end of the period at approximately 85 percent.
Despite the two mentioned age groups, there were upward trends in the proportion of inhabitants going to the cinema in the 35-49 year old group and age 50+. Specifically, the percentage of people in the 35-49 year old group underwent a fluctuation between 50 percent in 1988 and 70 percent in 1998, then it decreased steadily at 69 percent. On the contrary, the proportion of individuals going to the cinema in age 50+ began at 40 percent and it saw a drop at 30 percent in 1988 and taking off at around 51 percent at the end of the period.
