Overall, it is evident that the oldest age bracket exhibited the highest percentage of museum visitors, whereas a reverse pattern could be observed in the figures for the remaining age groups, before stabilizing. In addition, the over-50 age group exhibited the highest percentage of visitors throughout the years.
In 1980, the percentage of the over-50 age group visiting the museum was highest, standing at 48%. The figure for the two middle-aged groups (25-34 and 35-49) were lower, 37%. However, the youngest age group accounted for the lowest proportion, at only 20%. From 1980 onwards, the percentage of the over-50 age group reached its peak at 49%, before falling gradually to just 21% in the last year.
In the first decade, while the youngest age bracket rose to its peak at 26%, there was a marginal dip in both middle-aged groups , before rebounding to around 40% and 38%, respectively. From this point onwards, these three figures saw relative stability , before decreasing slightly in the last year, with 25-34-year-olds (37%) , 35-49-year-olds (36%) and 15-24-year-olds (21%), leaving the youngest age group with the lowest proportion throughout the period.
