Columbia had the lowest population of the three counties, at around 25,000. This compared with about 30,000 in Yamhill and approximately 75,000 in Washington on 1940 period. Slightly growth of population in Columbia in 1970 which was only 33,000. Also yamhill improved same amount and it was approximately 40,000. While the figure of people moderately rised in Washington that was over 120,000.
