The line graph depicts how the percenatge of elderly aged 65 and over among population in Japan, Sweden, USA changed from 1940 to 2040.
Throughout the 100 years, the salient feature is that citizens aged over 65 in the three countries comprises an increasing amount of proportion. Furthermore, whereas Japan had the lowest ratio of elderly at the start of the comparison, it comprised the highest proportion of old people at the end.
Looking into the graph more precisely, USA has a similar trend of growth with Swedan, they both started at around 8% in 1940, then went up to and intercepted at about 14% in 2000, they both ended at around 24%, USA skyrocketed to its maximum value from 2020 to 2040, while Sweden expereinced two sharp growth after 2000. Japan stablised its proportion between 1940 to 2000, then increased gradually to 10% in 2030, after that, it surged to 28% in 2040.
