Contained in the given line chart is data elucidating how many of three distinct types of books were sold in one nation over a period of 4 years starting in 2002. The units are measured in million dollars (M$)
In general, it can be observed that the sales of children’s books and educational books increased, while the opposite was true for adult fiction. It is also notable that the sale of educational books was always the lowest, with the exception for the year 2006, when it slightly outraced adult fiction sales.
Looking at the types of books with higher numbers of sales, it is evident that the sale of children’s books commenced at roughly $32M, then it experienced a gradual rise by $10M in the following 3 years, prior to its significant growth to approximately $58M at the end. It is also noticeable that the figures of educational books began at the lowest point of nearly $25M, and hovered around 26$ M to 31 M$ until the end of the surveyed time span.
Turning to the remaining type of book. It is clear that the sales of adult fiction started at the highest point but ended at the lowest point, which started at approximately $46M, decreased by nearly $8M, and recovered to $40M, before declining substantially to only $30M in 2006.
