The presented bar chart depicts how many million tons of greenhouse gas were emitted by three distinct types of fossil fuels in Britain between 1990 and 2010.
Examining the chart from an overall perspective, it is evident that while there was an ascending trend in the number of tons of gas emissions, the opposite was true for coal during the given period. Besides, oil emissions exhibited a small fluctuation in its quantity.
Taking a closer look at the chart reveals that gas emissions gradually escalated from around 220M tons at the start of the period to nearly 325M tons by 2010, regarded as taking the leading position among the three sources. In contrast, a decreasing trend was seen in the figure for coal emissions despite having the highest number of million tons of greenhouse gas generated in 1990, commencing at about 310M tons and standing at nearly 190M tons eventually.
In more depth, oil emissions also exhibited a fluctuation over 20 years. It emitted approximately 275M tons in the beginning year of the timeframe and dropped slightly to around 230M tons 5 years later. Importantly, there was an increase in the case of oil by 2000 before it continued to fall to 210M tons at the conclusion of the given time span.
