The bar graph demonstrates the diverse transport types used by travellers visiting New Zealand in 2004.
Overall, there is a notable resemblance in the choice of all nationalities; the ferry is used the least among other modes of transport. When British, German, and Australian visitors preferred buses, Japanese and Korean people used other modes of transportation.
A similar pattern was shown by the British and Germans’ choice of transport. When both nations used coaches the most among other modes of transport, around 58% of visitors from Britain and 55% of Germans used coaches; the percentages for air and water transportation were approximately 42% and 19%, respectively. The usage of cars differed in each nation; the British people used about 29%, and the Germans 35%.
Japanese, Korean, and Australian visitors’ preferences varied. The percentage of car usage during the whole trip was 53-25%: 53% of Japanese, 43% of Korean and 25% of Australians used cars for transportation. Another point is that the percentage of bus usage was almost similar, 48% of visitors from Japan, and above 50% of people from Australia used this type of transport. Korean tourists used coaches for about 36%. When car usage was 52% among Korean visitors, the percentage was approximately 21% and 20% among Japanese and Australians. In all three nations, the ferry was used 12-8%.
