The line graph illustrates the amount of air pollution in the UK from three different sources, plus the total of it, and the period of study is from 1900 to 2005.
It is clear that the total of air pollution was decreasing by the years, where the pollution that came from industry, which was the greatest source of pollution, and households went down. On the other hand, the pollution that came from transport went up throughout the period.
The total air pollution in 1900 was almost 8 million tonnes, and it kept drowning gradually until it reached 6 million tonnes. And the biggest source of air pollution in 1900 was industry, where it was nearly polluting at the rate of 6 million, but it decreased to reach just 2 million tonnes by 2005. And for households pollution, it stood steady at 1 million tonnes for a century from 1900 to 1999 before it went down to nearly zero by 2005. However, transportation has another way of moving, where it fluctuated in the first century. After that, it experienced a rise and reached 3 million tonnes and became the most air polluting source among the three.
