Overall, in all three nations the percentage of population that browsed the internet steadily increased throughout the given period. Both the USA and Canada percentages showed a similar upward trend, reaching 100% by 2009. While the use of the internet among mexican population increased slowly, peaking at around 40% in 2009.
In 1999, the USA and Canada started at around 20% and 15%, respectively. Between 2001 and 2003, Canada overtook the USA, and both reached 50%. In the following years, they both continued to rise: Canada culminated at 100% in 2009, while the USA reached only 90%.
On the other hand, in mexico, the percentage of population that used the internet began at only 5% in 1999, showing a slow upward trend, and peaking at only around 40% in 2009.
