Overall, Bernie’s Buns outperformed Lovely Loaves in most categories. In addition, doughnuts were the best-selling food in both bakeries, while rolls and salads were the least popular items among customers in Lovely Loaves and Bernie’s Buns, respectively.
Regarding Bernie’s Buns, doughnuts recorded the highest sales on Saturdays, with nearly 140 items sold, followed by cookies and cakes, with approximately 120 and 100 items sold, sequentially. Meanwhile, sales of toasted sandwiches and crisps were nearly identical, at around 80 items each. In contrast, salads recorded the lowest sales, at just under 20 units—almost seven times lower than those of doughnuts. Similarly, sales of fresh loaves and rolls also lagged significantly behind those of top-selling items, with 40 and around 20 units sold, respectively.
Moving to Lovely Loaves, doughnuts still remained the best-selling product, with over 120 items sold. Cakes ranked second, with nearly 80 items sold, followed by cookies and salads, both of which had similar sales figures of over 60 units. Likewise, sandwiches, fresh loaves, and crisps were sold in similar quantities, each exceeding 60 units. The lowest sales figure belonged to rolls, at just over 20 units. Additionally, fresh loaves and salads were the only two categories where Lovely Loaves outperformed Bernie’s Buns, with salad sales at the former nearly tripling those at the latter.
