The bar graph illustrates the proportion change in the number of foreign pupils graduating from different Canadian provinces’ university from 2001 to 2006.
Overall, it is clear that the percentage of internation graduates had an upward trend in all provinces. However, except for Alberta, there was a decline.
Looking at the graph more closely, one can see that New Brunswick accounted for the highest rate in students graduating at 7% while Nova Scotia secondly stood at 6.5% in 2001. At the same year, Quebec and Alberta witnessed the almost same figure approximately over 6% while British Columbia’s rank was just in top 5. However, it was a surprising rate for British Columbia to stand secondly after New Brunswick in 2006. In fact, British Columbia had climbed up remarkably from just over 4% to 10%. Besides, Ontario had been in the lowest rate at the begining until it surged double to 6% in just 5 years. Likewise, Manitoba and Newfoundland & Labrador had the similar proportion in both 2001 at over 4% and followed with twofold rate in 2006. Alternatively, Alberta was the only place to decrease nearly threefold percent after this period of years.
