Overall, while the percentage of people visiting the cinema on Wednesday saw a downward trend, the figures for the other days witnessed no significant changes over the years. In addition, people in this country visited the cinema the most on weekends.
In 2003, the percentage of people visiting the cinema on Monday was 10%,a third of that on Sunday while the Saturday had the highest proportion of movie-goers(40%). While the figure for Monday, Saturday and Sunday increased by roughly 5% in 2005, the final year saw a marginal decrease of 3% in visitors rate on these three days. Additionally, the figure for Friday stood at 30% across all three years
In contrast, the figures for three remaining days showed a downward trend. In more detail, Wednesday saw a constant decrease in the percentage of movie-goers, from over 15% in 2003 to around 8% in the final year. 20% of people visiting the cinema were on Tuesday, higher than that on Thursday by 3%. After that both figure witnessed a mild drop of around 3% in 2005. In the final year, the percentage of movie-goers on Thursday rose to nearly 19%,while the figure on Tuesday recorded a slight rise of 2%.
