The given bar chart below illustrates how many people went to cinemas on different days of the week in one specific European country including the years 2003, 2005 and 2007.
As it can be seen the number of cinema-goers from Monday to Thursday was considerably smaller than other days of the week over the period, with Saturday being the most preferred weekday to go to the cinema throughout.
Focusing on the first four days of the week, Monday to Thursday, the proportions of movie-goers experienced a tangible increase on Monday and Thursday, from 10% to around 13% and from about 17% to just under 20% respectively until the end of the period. However, a reverse trajectory was true when it comes to the share for the other two days of the week. As for Tuesday, the index of visitors to cinemas showed a negligible 2-percent decline to 18% in 2007, whereas the percentage for Wednesday halved to approximately 8% during the timeframe.
On the other hand, Friday and the weekends had relatively larger proportions. The figures for Friday remained constant at 30%, showing no changes over a timespan. In terms of Saturday, the index of people who paid a visit to cinemas went up from 40% to a peak of 45%, before dropping marginally by nearly 2%. Although Sunday witnessed almost the same patterns of change, albeit to varying degrees, as Saturday, growing from 30% to roughly 32%.
