The amount of energy generated from coal in four Euroean countries between 1995 and 2010 is demonstrated in the graph.
Overall, it can be seen that the percentages of energy produced from coal declined amog all the countries over the period as a whole.
When looked in detail, the percentage for Denmark stood ar 60% in 1995 and similar to Denmark, 55% for Germany. However, there was a sharp fall until 2004 for both countiries. The percentage for Germany hit a low of 8% in 2007 whereas Denmark remained constant from 2004 to 2007. Despite some fluctutations, both of the countries showed dramatic decline.
In contrast, Sweden and France remained stable over the whole period of time. 35% of energy came from coal in Sweden in 1995 and this percentage gradually decreased. The percentage produced in France remained just under that of Sweden over the 15- year period.
