The line graph illustrates the percentage of club members who took part in swimming, team sports and gym activities in UK sports club over 20 years ,from 1995 to 2015.
Overall, it is clear that the rates of participants in swimming activity declined dramatically , while that of team sports and gym activity showed an upward trend .
Delving into details, in 1995,the most popular activity was swimming among British citizens which made up a 50 % of club members. After a sharp decline between 1995 to 2010 , it accounted for only 15% and did not change until the end of given span.
Regarding all the increased rates, the percentage of club members who preferred team sports was higher than those opted for gym activities. There was a huge difference between the percentage of club members who preferred team sports and those who opted for gym activities 31% and 5% ,respectively.For next five years ,the figure for former type showed no change in its percentage while the letter reached 9 %. There was a significant increase in percentage of members of both activities making it 40% and 25% in 2010. Despite the growth , the ratio of team sports members fell to 31 % which was the same at the beginning of the time span. However, figure for the members who engaged in gym activities did not change and it was 15% in both 2010 and 2015.
