The line graph illustrates Australia’s university math graduates proportion of getting full-time jobs compared to other graduates in the period of 2004 to 2012. The table shows the average salary of these graduates during the same period. Units are measured in percentage of people who gained jobs.
Overall, math graduates had a stable record of having employment corresponding to each year, while other graduates had seen a rise. Contrastingly, a reverse trend was followed and they settled around at the same position in the final year. However, all the graduates average salary is increased throughout the period.
Math students had over 75 percent of jobs in 2004 and it slightly fluctuated every year except they had a gradual rose in 2008 to approximately 80. Graduates from other departments had an increase to around 30 percent from 2004 to 2006, followed by a drop to nearly 60% in 2012 which is similar to first year.
Moreover, the average salaries of both graduates started at $41000 initially and saw a same amount of rise in next year. Since then math students got an increment of $5000 compared to others in remaining years.
