Overall, there were decreases in the proportion of the UK visitors to Spain aged 34 – 54 years and 25 – 34 years, while the remaining age groups saw increases after twenty years. Notably, despite an incline, the figures for the 34 – 54 – years – old UK travelers to Spain had by far the largest in both years.
Regarding the age groups undergoing a fall, the percentage of the UK people visiting Spain in the age of 34 – 54 constituted exactly a half in 1983 after which it significantly fell to 35% in 2003. Also, the 25 – 34 age group dropped slightly from 20% to 12 % in 1983 and 2003, respectively.
As for the remaining age groups, the figure for those aged 0 – 15 years was 10% in 1983, followed by a marginal increase to 12% in 2003. Meanwhile, commencing at 4 %, the data for the 16 – 24 age group saw a considerable increase to 15% in 2003, which shares the similar pattern with the over 55 age group, starting at 16% and ending at 26%.
