The flow chart illustrates how chocolate is manufactured.
Overall, it is clear that there are ten stages in this linear, man-made process, beginning with growing cacao tree and ripe red pods and ending with pressing liquid chocolate produced.
To begin with, the process starts when cacao trees as well as ripe red pods are grown in South America, Africa, Indonesia, after which pods are harvested to collect the white cocoa beans. These beans are then fermented. Next, the beans are spread out in sun to dry. When they are competely dried, they are packed into large sacks.
In the subsequent stage, these packages are transported by larry or train, and take to factory. At the factory, the beans are roasted at high temperature. Once roasted, they are crushed, and their outer shell is removed. Finally, this inner part is pressed as well as liquid chocolate produced, completing the production cycle.
