The illustrations demonstrate the various changes that took place on an island after it was developed into a tourist attraction.
Overall, what stands out from the map is that the island was converted into a holiday destination with the addition of accommodation, entertainment and transport facilities, mainly concentrated in the central area.
Prior to development, this island was uninhabited and surrounded by the sea. Furthermore, there were only a few trees located on the eastern and the western parts of the island, along with a beach on the coast.
In terms of construction, a reception was built in the central part, next to a restaurant on the northern side. To be more specific, some bungalows were constructed, forming two circles on either side of the reception area. Moreover, to improve accessibility, more footpaths connecting the accommodations were introduced, extending to the beach on the west coast, which was made available for swimming. In addition, a pier on the southern part enabled ships to access the island; tracks were also built to connect the pier with the reception and the restaurant. Another notable feature is that more vegetation was preserved and expanded around the island.
