The line graph demonstrates the percentage of female members of parliament in five different countries namely Germany, Italy, France, the UK, and Belgium.
Overall, the percentage of all these five countries’s female members of parliament was likely to increase in the period from 2000 to 2012, while the highest proportion of female members of parliament in 2012 was Italy, and the figure of the Uk and Belgium both ranked the lowest.
In terms of the higher percentage group concluding Germany, Italy, and France, France, and Germany witnessed a slight increase from 2000 to 2012. Particularly, the figure for France increased from 25% to about 32%, while there was an increase of 5% in Germany figure at almost 37% in 2012 Additionally, after an increase from closely 27% to 34%, the percentage of female members of parliament in Italy overtook the figure for German in 36%, then reached its peak of 39% at the end of the period.
Regarding the other group, Belgium witnessed a dramatic increase from about 17% to 24% in 8 years before slightly going down to closely 23% in 2012. In 2000, the UK had the lowest percentage of female members of parliament in the five European countries, about 3%. In the period, the UK significantly grew to about 3% at the end of the period, which was similar to the figure of Belgium.
