The line graph gives information about the household recycling rate in three countries between 2005 and 2015.
Overall, it can be seen that the recycling percentage of households showed a significant increase in the UK and Germany during the period, while the proportion of recycled waste in France experienced a drop trend.
In detail, the household recycling rates of Germany and the UK were 20% and 35% respectively in 2005. The proportion in Germany went up sharply in the period, exceeding 45% in 2011 and reaching 56% by the end.
In the meantime, the percentage of recycled waste in the United Kingdom increased to 40% in 2007 and remained steady until 2009. From 2009 to 2011, it experienced a rapid surge to more than 55% and continued with a gradual rise to 60% in the year 2015.
Moving on to France, in early 2005, the recycling rates were the highest among others. However, it sharply declined to 30% by 2013, recording the lowest percentage compared to the others. Then, there was a rise of 40% in 2015, but France’s recycling rate was still the lowest by the end of the period.
