The line graph gives information about the household recycling rates in three countries between 2005 and 2015.
Overall, it can be seen that the recycling percentages of households in the UK and Germany showed a significant increase during the period, while the proportion of recycled waste in France experienced a downward trend.
In detail, the recycling rates in Germany and the United Kingdom were 20% and 35%, respectively, in 2005. The proportion in Germany went up sharply through the period, exceeding 45% in 2011 and reaching 56% by the end.
In the meantime, the percentage of recycled waste in the United Kingdom increased to 40% in 2007 and continued steady until 2009. From 2009 to 2011, it experienced a rapid surge to more than 55% and continued with a gradual rise to 60% in the year 2015.
Moving on to France, in early 2005, the recycling rate was the highest among the others. However, it sharply declined to 30% in 2013, recording the lowest percentage compared to the others. Then, there was a rise to 40% in 2015, but France’s recycling proportion was still the lowest by the end of the period.
