The line graph below gives informations about the number of people taking part in different activities at one social centre in Melbourne, Australia from 2000 to 2020.
Overall, it is clear that people joining musical performances increased gradually at the beginning of 2005, while the number of participants in other activities such as film club, martial arts, amateur dramatics and table tennis had a lot of changes.
Although musical performances were not popular among people in 2000, it started to be paid attention in the next 5 years. From 2005 to 2010, this number went up rapidly to over ten thousand people and maintained its increase over the next 10 years, standing at 15 thousand in 2020. In contrast, the number of people participating in amateur dramatics reached a peak of 20 thousand but went down dramatically to under 10 thousand throughout the period.
The number of participants choosing to play table tennis had a slight increase from 15 thousand to 20 thousand between 2000 and 2005 and fluctuated at this number 5 years later. This upward trend continued and by 2020, it rocketed significantly to 55 thousand participants. Contrary to the dramatic increase of table tennis, the number of participants in the film club experienced a slight decrease of around 60 thousand before surging back to over 65 thousand in 2020.
Eventually, people taking part in martial arts changed a lot throughout this period. After plugging to 30 thousand in 2005, it went up to a peak of 40 thousand and repeated this trend from 2010 to 2020.
