The line graph compares changes in the level of coffee exported in three countries from 2002 to 2012. All figures are shown in millions of kilograms.
It is seen from the chart that the overall trend was upward, as the consumption of coffee sold overseas increased in each country over the period shown. In particular, there were sharp rises for Brazil and Costa Rica in comparison with Colombia.
In 2002, the figures for coffee sold abroad in Brazil started in 2nd place with almost 12 million kilograms. It experienced a slight growth with the figure of 15 million kilograms in 2006 before increasing dramatically to finish the period with the highest total of 25 million kilograms. Similarly, the quantity of coffee exported in Costa Rica began the period with the highest number, at around 15 million kilograms. It then saw a steady decline in 2006 with approximately 7 million kilograms, which was followed by a steep increase to 20% in 2012.
Moving on to Colombia, there was about 5 million kilograms in 2002. It dipped to around 2 million kilograms in 2008 then it saw a recovery to end the period at 15 million kilograms.
