The line chart illustrates the percentages of household waste recycling among three different countries, namely the UK, France, and Germany from 2005 to 2015. It is clear that recycling rates in the UK and Germany showed upward trends. It is also noticeable that there was a sharp fall in the recycling rate in France during the period shown.
In 2005, the percentage of household recycling in France was the highest, at 50%, followed by the figures for the UK and Germany, at just over a third and a fifth, respectively. Four years later, the percentage of household recycling in France fell dramatically. By contrast, the figures for both the UK and Germany increased sharply to around two fifths.
In 2011, The UK witnessed a rise in the proportion of household recycling, with its figure reaching a peak of around 58%. In 2015, the percentages of household recycling in both the UK and Germany rose significantly to approximately 60% and 55%, with the figure for the UK remaining the highest . Meanwhile, the percentage of household recycling in France increased sharply to about two fifths, however, the figure for the France was still the lowest point among these nations.
