The given line graph depicts the trend of enrolment of international students to the De Salle university from five countries namely, India, Vietnam, Nepal, Indonesia and Colombia over a period extending from 1980 to 2020. Overall, maximum number of students enrolling were from India and lowest were from Colombia. While the number of students registering from all countries have increased overtime, a sharp rise was seen after 2000 from India. Similar surge was evident after 2010 in Vietnam and Nepal.
The number of Indians registering at the university increased almost 10 times, from 500 in 1980 to 5000 in 2000, with a subequent rapid rise to 10000 students in 2010 and 15000 in 2020.
Though the number of students from Vietnam were more compared to Nepal, the pattern of enrolment from Vietnam and Nepal was similar. The rise in Vietnamese was slight from 1000 in 1980 to 2000 in 2000, followed by doubling to 4000 in 2010. A significant increase to 10000 was then seen in 2020. The number from Nepal gradually increased to 2000 till 2010 which was followed by a steep rise to 9000 in 2020.
Indonesian students increased steadily from 1000 in 1980 to 2500 in 2000 followed by a modest rise to 5000 and 7500 in 2010 and 2020 respectively.
