The line chart showcases the tally of student enrollments, in thousands, at De Salle University from 1980 to 2020 in five different countries: India, Vietnam, Nepal, Indonesia, and Colombia.
Overall, India consistently placed highest among all countries; boasting continuous staggering amount of student applications in the past four decades. Whereas, Colombia continued to underperform in numbers, marking its place at the bottom of the chart.
The five countries started with modest records of enrollments in 1980. India, Vietnam, and Indonesia placed close to each other, tallying around 800–1000 enrollments. Meanwhile, Nepal and Colombia started with even lesser amount of applications, roughly around 100–400. However, at the end of 1990, India demonstrated a huge spike in its enrollments. Starting from 2000 applications, Indian enrollments significantly rose to 5000 by the year 2000. This upward trend did not wane for India, maintaining its top spot across all the five countries, with approximately 15000 enrollments in 2020.
Vietnam and Indonesia shared similar numbers in enrollment from 1980 to 2010. From having approximately 1500 applications in 1990 to 4000–5000 enrollments in 2010. However, in 2020, Vietnam displayed a substantial increase in its enrollments, recording 10000 applications. This same trajectory was soon followed by Nepal. Signifying an increased favorability among the students, 9000 enrollees were recorded in 2020. Similarly, Indonesia steadily increased its population in the university, having roughly about 7600 enrollees in 2020. Lastly, Colombia remained having the least amount of enrollments, gathering about 1500 enrollees in 2020; a clear indication of its diminished interest towards the institution.
