In contrast, assault began at roughly 2,300 in 2003 and fluctuated moderately during first half of the period, before increasing steadily towards the end. By 2012, the figure for assault stabilished at around 2,600. Regarding murder, it initially stood at about 500 in 2003 and fluctuated slightly to 700 by 2010 and falling to approximately 600 by 2012.
