The line chart below shows three different crimes and the number of cases committed between 1970 and 2005 in England and Wales, including car theft, house burgling,street robbery.
Overall, car theft, street robbery, and house burgling increased over the period given. At the beginning of the period, the most widely spread was car theft and that continued until the end of the period . By the end of the period, street robbery became more common. In the second decade, house burgling rose.
With regard to the amount of street robbery, it began at 0.00 in 1970 and continued to remain at the same position until a dramatic growth in 2005, which amounted to about 0.40 million. Likewise, house burgling was 0.20 at the start and suddenly increased in 1980; it was about 0.80 million. It dramatically dropped to 0.60 in 1985. In the period of 1990-2005, it reduced.
On the other hand, car theft steadily rose in the period of 1970-1990. At the beginning, it was 0.40 and increased to 0.80. It reached a high of 1.60 million in 1995 and fell slightly in 2000 to 1.40 million. It continued to fall until 2005.
