The line graph illustrates how the number of students studying abroad from the US, UK and Australia changed from 2002 to 2007.
Overall, the three countries experienced generally stable trends, though the UK recorded a noticeable decline compared with the others. While the figure for Australia stayed virtually constant, the US showed a slight dip before returning to its initial level.
The US and Australia exhibited more stable trends. In 2002, 50,000 students from the USA continued their education in other countries, but this number decreased to around 48,000 in 2004, before returning to its original level by 2007. Notably, the USA consistently had the highest number of students abroad. Starting at 10,000, Australia’s figure stayed at the same level until the end of the period, consistently ranking as the lowest of the three countries.
The UK, on the other hand, showed a decreasing pattern. Initially standing at 30,000, the number of students from this country pursuing education abroad remained unchanged until 2003, after which it fell steadily to nearly 20,000 by 2007.
