The line graph gives information about how much spreads consumed between 1981 and 2007.
Overall, while the grams of butter and margarine decreased noticeably, the reverse was true for lawfat and reduced spreads. Moreover, Lowfat and reduced spreads stood out among other products with starting ate in 1996.
The amount of butter and margarine showed decreased in figures. The amount of butter which was consumed started at about 140 grams in 1981 and this was followed by a rise to around 160grams in the next 5 years (1986). After a increase to around 160grams, the figure of butter dropped markedly to approximate 50grams until 2007. Consumption of margarine was at approximate 90grams in 1981 after which it saw a noticeable decline at 40grams until the final year (2007). By contrast, Lowfat and reduced spreads were started eating in 1996 compare to other categories. Starting at about 10grams, the amount of low-fat and reduced spreads went up markedly to around 80grams between 1996 and 2001 but this was followed by a slight fall to about 70grams in 2007.
