According to the graph, we can see that at the beginning of the period, the amount of butter consumed increased gradually from 140 to 160 grams between 1981 and 1986; however, the usage of butter began to decrease swiftly to under 50 grams in 2007. There was a sharp reduction in margarine intake in 1986, but then it began to rise to under 100 grams in 1991 and remained stable between 1991 and 1996. On the other hand, consumption began to go down quickly to below 40 grams from 1996 to 2007.
Looking at the next category, at the beginning, the consumption of low-fat spreads was the lowest among all categories, making up 0 in 1981; nevertheless, the amount of low-fat spreads began to grow rapidly to 90 in 2001, but consumption declined from 90 to 70 between 2001 and 2007.
