Overall, there was a significant inflation regarding prices of Cinema Tickets and Online streaming, resulting in a drop in sales in the year 2011. Conversely, the cost of DVDs barely grew throughout the whole period, thus, skyrocketed in sales instead.
In terms of cost, Cinema Tickets initially had a higher price of 9 units. It continued to soar, ahead of the other types, ending with 14 units in 2011. Similarly, Legal Download started with a large amount of 7 units, then it declined and reached a low point of just about 3 units. Afterwards, it surged upwards, overtaking the prices of DVDs in 2010 and climbed back to 9 units in 2011. Meanwhile, DVDs leveled off without much change in prices throughout the year. It began with 6 units in 2005 and had an upward trend until it reached 8 units in the last year.
In terms of market share, over 2/3 of the consumers preferred to rent a DVD. However, it shrank drastically from 59% in 2005 to just 26% in 2011. Correspondingly, 36% of consumers used to go to the cinema in 2005, then dropped by half of it in 2011. Although customers who opted to rent a DVD were few in 2005, it increased dramatically by 10 folds in 2011.
