The line graph illustrates the proportion of people in four different age categories who visited the cinema in a specific nation between 1978 and 2008.
The most obvious piece of information is that all four groups showed a similar pattern during the period, except for the percentage of people who were older than 50, which increased at the end of the period. Furthermore, it is noticeable that the rate of visitors who are 35 to 45 years old and those older than 50 became the same in 2008.
Looking at the graph more closely, it can be seen that the percentage of visitors aged between 14 and 24 years old stood at just over 90 percent in 1978. Also, the figure, after some fluctuation, had reached 80 percent. And we can say that cinema is popular among teenagers in all periods. A similar pattern was seen in older people aged between 35 and 49, decreasing 10 percent over the given stage. Meanwhile, the 25 to 34 age category’s figure reached 65 percent after undergoing a slight fall and rise between 1978 and 2008. In contrast, the number of elderly who were older than 50 experienced a decline to 20 percent in 1988 before going up gradually and peaking at 50 percent in the last year of the period.
