The line graph illustrates different types of crimes-car theft,house burgling and street robbery in different countries, such as England and Wales from 1970 to 2005.
Overall,while the proportion of stealing cars kept dominance,the share of street robbery was the lowest during the given period.
Looking at the graph in more detail, the proportion of the car theft was 0.4 million in 1970, and its share increased gradually until 1990 accounting for 1 million. After increasing sharply from 1 million to around 1.6 million between 1990 and 1995, its rate started to decline dramatically until end of the given period making up 1 million.
However, although house burgling’s percentage made up around 200 thousand in the beginning of the given period, its share increased moderately over 10 years period accounting for 600 thousand in 1980. After witnessed a slight deep during 10 years period, the percentage of house burgling went down until 2005, making up roughly 0.5 million. Street robbery was not common crime in England and Wales from 1970 to 1995, however, its figure climbed between 1995 and 2000 accounting for 0.2 million. After increasing slightly, the street robber’s share remained unchanged by 2005.
