In the following 15 years, both of metrics showed similar steady growth, achieving 5 millions and just below 3 millions tourists took a trip out and in Australia, respectively.
Among the grand destinations for Australian residents, Indonesia and the US together welcomed 1.9 million people in 2014, while Italy, Japan and the UK were visited by only approximately 1 million Australian citizens in total during 2014
