The line graph demonstrates the amount of UK residents visiting overseas from the UK and abroad citizens going to the UK from 1979 to 1999. The bar chart shows data on the number of UK residents travelled to the fifth most popular countries namely Turkey, Greece, USA, Spain and France in 1999.
Overall, A significant increase was seen in the number of visits to and from the UK, with UK residents made more trips abroad than overseas residents coming to the UK. Moreover, France was the top destinations for UK residents in 1999.
Regarding to the line graph, starting at just over 12 million in 1979, the number of visits abroad by UK residents then increased steadily to reach a peak of over 50 million in 1999. There were around 10 million overseas residents travelled to the UK in the first year, and then its continued its upward trend to just under 30 million in the final year.
The bar graph shows that France topped the list destination for UK residents in 1999, with approximately 11 million visits, followed closely by Spain with around 9 million visitors. The USA witnessed about 4 million UK visitors, while Greece saw around 3 million and Turkey was the least popular with roughly 2 million visits.
