The line graph illustrates the occupation of men and women aged 18-34 in Australia between 1976 and 2011.
In general, the proportion of both men and women experienced a significant surge, despite oscillation over the period of 35 years. By contrast, the percentage of women tumbled dramatically from time to time. Whereas, despite short-lived spike in the numbers of employment of women, females provided neglible amount of proportion over the period shown.
At the beginning of the period, the share for males had risen considerably from approximately 55 to 68 but then edged down to roughly 65. However, the portion skyrocketed unexpectedly and rose to a peak of employment. Since then, employment level of males dropped to around 72. Eventually, despite a noticeable instability in the share of employment males sustained the high level.
At the outset of the period, the figures for females faced a significant decrease. By doing so, they failed to sustain the average level of employment. Subsequently, the portion of females dipped considerably from 52 to 15 at the age of 34. In 2011, the figures for females experienced temporary surge but could not maintain and hit a low of employment by reaching the bottom of around 0.
