The diagrams illustrate the developments that have taken place in Denham over a period of 40 years between 1986 and 2026.
It is clear that the town will be changed considerably, six new features can be seen in the second map. While infrastructures like the school and post office will remain, all farmland and gardens will be replaced by new housing.
In 1986, Denham was a small countryside town. In the west, there were some shops and a post office. The primary school was in the center. The south and east parts of the town were covered with farmland. Finally, there were gardens and a large house in the south-east corner.
By 2026, many changes are planned to take place. All the farmland and gardens will be removed to build a large number of new houses and roads. The shops in the west will disappear, but the post office will remain. The primary school will be expanded to become bigger. Lastly, the large house will be converted into a retirement home.
