The maps illustrate how an American town changed over the period of 62 years (1948–2010). Overall, the town experienced a complete makeover with many facilities repurposed and destroyed. Despite that, some facilities were not subject to change.
In 1948, the town had only a few facilities. There were a local supermarket and church at the bottom of the map, with a canal between them. A petrol station, factories, and a garden were positioned in the north-east corner. There was a road to the flank of the canal, creating easy access to residential houses. In the center of the map, residential houses could be found, surrounded by trees.
There had been immense changes to the layout of the town by 2010. The most noticeable change took place in the north-east, where factories were demolished to make room for an airport and commercial buildings. The supermarket was repositioned instead of the garden. Commercial buildings were erected in the places of residential houses and the local supermarket. Although residential houses remained intact in the south-east, a sports stadium was constructed in the south-east of the map.
