The map presents the layout of an American town in two years: 1948 and 2010. Overall, the town underwent a major transformation, making it a more modern and industrial zone by adding an airport, a sports stadium, and some commercial buildings in the northwest. Although the petrol station and vegetation remained intact, some houses and a small theme park were removed for other purposes in 2010.
In 1948, the town used to be more residential and diverse, with different facilities for local inhabitants. Residential houses could be found in the northern and southern areas, with a canal between them from the west to the east. In terms of business sectors, there were a local supermarket and several factories along the northern road, where a petrol station could also be seen. Meanwhile, there was a church located in the southwest. In terms of vegetation, trees were planted along the streets, and a tiny green park was situated next to the factories.
After almost half a century, the town became more commercial and developed. Regarding the main structure, the petrol station and the southeast houses maintained their original locations, while to the north many commercial buildings and an airport were erected after removing several apartments, the park, and factories. This change had a further impact on a local supermarket, which was relocated between the so-called manufacturing zone. When it comes to a recreational facility, the church was demolished to make room for a stadium. Notably, the town’s natural beauty was retained.
