The map demonstrates alters in 65 years in the street called Station. Overall, in place of various shops like bakery and book store there was constructed an enormous super market. This essay will examine the transformations in 1960 and now.
In 1960, the Station street was located between railway station and the row of different department stores. On top of the map there were situated all the things people required such as pharmacy, butcher, toy shop, book store, bakery, Dvd rental store and fish and chips shop. Furthermore, a little lower there were located places like grocery, public telephones, a big railway station and dry cleaner’s.
Nowadays, the map has shown conspicuous modifications. The first notable change is that all shopping centers on top of illustration were knocked down to made a space for the one big super market, which is consist of all these shops. Aside from this, in the left side in place of pharmacy there was erected parking for vehicles, also on the right side to made a space for cafe, they was knocked down the fish and chips shop. In addition, the public telephones building has been cleared to made a room for construction of larger railway station. What’s more impressive is that grocery has been also destroyed to erection of new hostel.
In conclusion, the most conspicuous changes were that in place of different shopping malls there was built up only one big super market and public smartphones was also knocked down to expand the space of railway station.
