The map illustrates how the Station street has changed over the years starting from 1960 up until now.
Overall, it is noticible that the variety of places on the street has decreased. Now the street consist of only four distinct places while before it was more than double that number. The street can be divided into two sides in order to see the exact changes.
The upper part of the street has faced the most changes. Places such as dvd rental store or book shop have been replaced by a super market that covers almost the whole side of the street. In order for people to park their cars there has been a parking build right where the pharmacy were in the 60’s. The other new building on the street is the cafe which now operates next to the supermarket. It’s way smaller than the ones from the last century.
The lower part hasn’t changed dramatically. Although the railway station has become smaller the dry cleaner’s next to it remained in the same place without any change in size. Grocery and public telephone have been replaced by a one big hotel. It created a symetrical outline of the street, being the same size as the parking on the other side of the street.
