The first map, 'The town', shows a Town Square, a Castle, and a Port that accommodates 60 ships per month, with routes labeled 'To America' and 'To Europe'. The second map, 'Position of volcano', illustrates the town located at the base of an active volcano with lava, situated 8km from the coast, with a compass indicating North. The third map, 'After volcano eruption', details the town's state following a '1st phrase of lava flow on 8th May 1706' and a '2nd phrase of lava flow on 16 May 1706', which have covered the castle and port areas, destroyed numerous houses, and resulted in 'No ship' in the sea.

Three maps illustrates the town in the Atlantic Ocean before, in the process and after the volcanic eruption in 1706.
Overall, before the disaster we can see the area where people live which was destroyed by first phrase of lava flow and the port that mentioned only once in the first map, however there is a castle that was not influenced by the catastrophe.
If we look at the the town before the evidence, there is in the west side town square for people and the ports on the ocean that can handle 60 ships per month to America and Europe. In the heart of town there is a big castle. The second map illustraites the position of volcano that located 8km away from the town to the North.
The volcano eruption occured on two dates with eight day differences. First phase of lava flow which was in 8th May destroyed the town square and the second phace which was in 16th May completely covered the port . As a result only the castle remained the town.
