The two maps compare a layout of Southwest Airport as it stands currently and after planned renovations.
Overall, therefore, the main differences will include an expansion in the number of gates, replacement of walkways, and addition of several new features designed to enhance the convenience of both the departures and arrivals areas.
Looking at the major changes, we can see that currently there are 8 gates, with an additional 10 gates set to be added in the coming year. Moreover, sky trains will replace the existing walkways, providing easy access for passengers travelling from gate 1 to gate 18. In the departures area, the check-in counter will relocate to where the café currently stands, while the café itself will move closer to the left side of the entrance.
As for the arrivals area, by next year the current empty space will have been filled by several new facilities, such as a café, an ATM, and a car hire facility, that will all be located eastwards.
Finally, two new entrances will be added to the current two, further improving the convenience of Southwest Airport in the upcoming year.
