The maps show the transformation of a coal excavation site over time.

Overall, the site has undergone a significant change, turning from a coal mining area into a leisure-oriented site. After redevelopment, several new areas have been added, while one part has remained unchanged.

Before redevelopment, the site functioned as a working mine, with a lorry park located in the bottom middle part of the map and a car park on the opposite side. In the top centre, the entrance to the underground mine for diggers was situated, adjacent to which was the medical room, while the office and staff changing room were on the opposite side. The right side of the map was occupied by waste tips.

Since then, the site has changed dramatically from an industrial workplace into a visitor attraction. Where the lorry park once stood, there is now a souvenir shop, with a cafe nearby, which has replaced the medical room. The office and staff changing room have been replaced by a museum. The entrance to the underground mine now serves visitors. Waste tips have been removed and replaced with a digger driving track, a picnic area, and a children’s play area. Additionally, a footpath runs through the central part of the site, providing access to several recreational areas. However, the car park has remained unchanged since the redevelopment.
